Classes Of Ants Commonly Found

Ants can be found all over the planet, in any nation, at any climate condition. We can find them in our landscapes, in our houses, and even in our workplaces. Ants live in colonies, and a single colony may have over a million ants. There are many different ant types. Some of the better-known kinds are the army ants, driver ants, honeypot ants, weaver ants, leaf cutter ants, fire ants, silver ants, and bulldog ants. Colonies of ants are comprised of three classes of ants, namely the workers, the soldiers, & the lone queen.

Ants are 1 of the most common creatures in the world and are of different types. Regardless of their small They are small but terrible; they may pose a threat to animals as well as humans.

The behavior of ants may vary according to their class. Ants’ color may vary from black or red to brown and their size vary from two to 25 millimeters.

Driver ants and army ants are highly developed ants. Army ants can be found in South America & driver ants can be seen in Africa. Unlike other ants, these don’t have permanent nests. Their colonies reproduce by two methods - nuptial flights or fission.

Ants that make their nests in trees by attaching leaves together are known as weaver ants. These creatures first force the leaves together with a bridge of workers & then they sew the leaves by pressing silk producing larvae on the leaves.

Honeypot ants generally have enlarged bellies. These ants are typically found in hot, dry places such as deserts in Australia, Africa and North America. Some places considered them as a great delicacy.

Leaf cutter ants live only within their colony & feed only on fungus. These ants come in different sized classes to carry out various duties that are to be done in the colony.

Ants that have a sac of poison are known as the fire ant. Their “poison” is known as piperidine alkaloids.

The Australian bulldog ants are those with only 1 chromosome & these are amongst the biggest and most primitive varieties of ants.
