Drum Instruction DVD: Reinforce The Concepts Many Times As You Need To
February 24th, 2010
My experience with the speed drumming is a strange one. Basically, one October day, while picking up some drum sticks at a local music store, I noticed drummers using a device called a “Drumometer. This “drumming speed” measurement device used a practice pad for a striking surface with an embedded piezo trigger. The trigger was connected to a counter-timer computer brain that had a count and a timer display.
Your physical body can always do what you mind can conceive. Before you know it you will be producing you own style that others desire of you. It all starts in the mind.
A typical drumstick has a tip, shoulder, shaft and butt. The tip, also referred to as bead, is the top-most part that strikes the drum. Traditionally, the tip is made of the same hard wood as the rest of the stick.
Vinnie Colauita once said, “Just play in 7 for like an hour”. This is especially insightful as we can often get caught up in studying things too closely and miss the point. Sheer repetition will help lead to more comfort in odd times.
Sometimes the drum heads may even puncture when the hit is hard. If all this still does not provide you with good reasons to go for a new one at regular intervals, then you should realize that once it becomes weak it is difficult for you to play the roll or the fast chops. As a drummer you should change your drum heads after every six months.
However, six months is not an ideal time. If you have been playing the drum too often lately, consider changing it even though you may have changed it four months back. Signs that should tell you it is now the time for you to change are indents and cracks.
Well, I asked around a bit and was surprised to learn that the history of second line is a bit cloudy. Nobody can seem to agree on how it evolved, I heard stories about there being a line of musicians and staff that marched behind the mourners (second line) at a funeral parade in New Orleans. Apparently the musicians would play funeral marches on the way to the funeral and more livelier pieces on the return home.
Drummers like Zigaboo Modeliste and Johnny Vidacovich mixed second line with syncopated funk, developing a style called “second-line funk drumming”. This style was popularized in many famous bands that came from New Orleans like the Meters (see below). Second line drumming often involves a 3/2 son clave not dissimiliar to the Bo Diddley beat although it doesn’t necessarily always follow that rule, and Second line beats are also called “Street Beats”.
Understanding all there is to know about drum lesson is not always easy. Luckily you can get everything you need right here at drum instruction dvd

Helpful Tips To Repair A Badly Scratched CD
January 29th, 2010
There are many ways to damage a disc. Since CDs and DVDs are very sensitive they get easily scratched even if it falls down on the floor and pushed. Music played by the scratched discs is even more painful than having no music at all. If your question is how to fix a scratched CD or DVD then this is where you can find some appropriate answers. The scratched disks can be fixed following simple steps. This may be very useful when you have no chance to replace the Disc.
Clean the scratched CD with the help of a damp cloth but do not use a wet cloth as it can damage the CD by causing further damage. Avoid using a rough cloth for cleaning the CD. Clothes that are used for cleaning eye glasses or other type of lenses are most suitable for cleaning the CD as it is very smooth and it does not damage the CD.
Firstly, the CD is cleaned. To do this, a cloth is damped and is used for cleaning. The cleaning is done in patterns starting from the inner parts to the outer parts in straight lines. The circular patterns must not be followed as it might spoil the disc.
The cloth is used for cleaning must be selected carefully. It must be soft so that it does not make more scratches. The soft linen can be used. The cloth that is provided for cleaning the glasses would be highly suitable since it would not cause scratches.
Use the cleaning agents only on these scratches so you can avoid the risk of any damage to other parts of the CD. These cleaning agents can be harsh on the CD so wipe the scratches gently.
Try to avoid the house hold chemicals for cleaning the CD as they are harsh on the CD. Try to purchase a compact disk repair kit so that further damages to the CD are prevented and hence data losses can be avoided. These compact disk repair kits are available in the internet and can be purchased from websites like Amazon and e-bay. These repair kits can also be purchased from your local music store. The repair kit is not very expensive and can be purchased easily by everyone.
The other way to overcome a repaired or scratched CD is to use some type of repair kit. It is generally not advisable to use chemicals that are available at home. When there is no time or no other way the household chemicals can be used to fix but otherwise there are kits available for repairing it. These contain chemicals that are not very severe and help in cleaning. The kit also consists of special type of wipes that is appropriate for cleaning the discs. Since the kit is exclusive for the CDs they come with solution and wipes that are good for the discs and would not damage it further.
One should always know how to fix a scratched CD or DVD which can avoid unnecessary visits to the service stations.
