The Toshiba 32AV615DB Reviewed
March 22nd, 2010
The Toshiba Regza 32AV615DB is another success in the line of Regzas that are out now. Called by its shorter name, the ‘Regza AV61, it’s an HD ready LCD that’s digital and made especially for families who keep an eye on their budget. It contains all the features that make the Regza line as popular as it is, like the Active Vision. This performance processing technology for the picture is advancement at its finest.
The technology that Toshiba applies to these TVs in growing on an ongoing basis. Advances in all areas of viewing performance are happening just about as fast as they can put them out. In every aspect, from picture detail to color precision, they’ve made great strides and have undergone excellent advancements in order to bring the public a top quality product. Their screen sizes for the ‘AV61′ line range from 26 to 37 inches.
The analogue TVs are going to be going out by the year 2012. By then they expect everyone to have upgraded to a digital TV. But for those who aren’t able to make it, there’s no need for alarm. You’ll be able to get a digital tuner, which is a small box that you can hook up to your TV and will enable you to receive the digital signals. This ability comes automatic with all Toshiba model TVs.
Toshiba really outdid itself with the development of its ‘Active Vision’. What a great enhancer in the area of TV performance. The core elements were improved upon and have brought the viewer to a new level of viewing experience. They have taken the pixels, made them smaller and then spread them out in more numbers across the screen, and managed to bring a much more detailed picture to the viewer.
Toshiba gets it’s color quality by using more tones than your average traditional TV. They’ve been able to rid the picture of those pesky jagged edged lines that would show in the middle of a fast moving scene that contained fine detail. They’ve found a way to maintain that integrity throughout the scenes, bringing you a smooth flowing picture for the scene’s duration.
Maintaining a balance between the contrast and the brightness is crucial to providing the top picture detail. Toshiba has mastered this through it’s ‘dynamic contrast’ system. It decreases the brightness of the backlight when there are scenes with high levels of darkness. Then it also increases the same in scenes of brightness.
The Toshiba Regza 32AV615DB spells quality in every aspect of its performance. Toshiba has put out a real quality product with great technological advancements for a truly enhanced viewing experience for its customers. And the price has been kept at a level that enables most any family budget to squeeze one in.

Information On The IPad Tablet
March 12th, 2010
The iPad Tablet, otherwise just known as the iPad, is a computerized device used for many different things. It is made by Apple and is part of their new touch screen product like, like an iPhone. It is used primarily for reading eBooks, so it is therefore the convenient size of an open book. The other big competitor for this product is Kindle, by Amazon. This has more options than Kindle since it is more than just a device for reading.
It is to officially go on sale at the end of March, 2010 and orders have already broken records. It has gotten huge amounts of press and made its first major appearance on stage at the Grammy Awards. It was used as a plug for Apple, since the iPad was read from to announce the winner.
From the back, you might think it is a small laptop. The front is identically to the iPhone, only five times larger. It is almost a full computer system, though there is no keyboard or mouse. It is a music player, a recorder, a phone, a way to connect to the Internet, a file downloader, and a television.
It weighs just a pound and a half, which is amazing considering its memory and battery capabilities. It connects to WiFi. On the outside, it is easily the simplest of modern Apple products. There is only one USB port and one headphone jack. There are speakers and a microphone built in. That is it.
This product had been in the works for seventeen years before it was finally released in January 2010. Its long production ensured firstly that all the major kinks and problems could be worked out. It secondly made the hype over the product far more than it would have been over any other Apple product.
This is even including the price which many view as high. The iPad starts at five hundred dollars without any keyboard or mouse. Those need to be bought on their own. Sales have not slowed, but some are surprised by the product’s limitations. It cannot operate more than one program at a time nor are there video recording options. Many believe these problems will be soon corrected and upgraded.
The name has certainly created some waves and has had a lot of talk about it. Some have laughed at it due to its hygienic connotations. Others were upset that the iPad was not a name originally owned by Apple. There was another project in the works named iPAD, though the name was abandoned for something else. Apple then used it, though it is unclear if the rights to the name belong to the original user or not. It will be difficult for Apple to change it now, though, since it is ready to go out to stores.
Lawyers from both sides are unsure to whom the name legally belongs and if there is an impending law suit. It is doubtful it will harm sales at all, though it may delay the product reaching shelves. If there is one, it will be cutting it very close to the release date.

Can the Ebook Reader Compete with Apple iPad’s Bite?
March 9th, 2010
After the much-talked about introduction of the Apple iPad, gadget geeks are restlessly pacing the floor, anxiously waiting for the time when they could at long last get their hands on this device. The iPad versions built with WiFi are expected to be shipped by late March and the 3G models are to be delivered starting April. It’s no shocker actually; a person who uses Apple products are a rare breed, loyal and have stayed true to Apple.
It looks like Steve Jobs still got his touch, creating a product which will be flying off the shelves, no doubt. Perhaps scores of Apple followers will meander in long queues at the nearby Apple Store, standing by for when the iPad will finally go on sale, reminiscent of the iPhone launch. But will the anticipated entry of the iPad have a big impact on the slowly rising ebook reading market presently dominated by the Kindle? In order to come to a conclusion, let’s check out the iPad closely.
It’s not cheap with prices starting at $499 and topping out at $829, and why shouldn’t it be more than a bit pricey? Don’t forget that the iPad isn’t just an ebook reader. It looks like an over-sized iPhone, minus the call capabilities. You’ll be able to watch high-def movies, stream TV shows, browse the internet, and play games on it. The humongous 9.7-inch IPS touch screen stays true to Apple’s high resolution standards. It is equipped with a storage capacity of 16 GB, 32 GB or 64 GB flash drive.
With such storage capability, this device will obviously hold a library much larger than your typical ereader. Books are cleverly displayed on a “book shelf”. You can just tap the book you would like, and enjoy reading it on a high-resolution, LED backlit screen. It also runs special apps developed for the iPad, and also many of the 140,000 applications from the App store.
Here’s a problem, though. The iPad will only be connected to Apple’s own ebook store, and these books are not compatible with the Kindle and other ebook reader market dominators. If you’ve got an ample collection of ebooks already on another ereader, you won’t be able to access them on the iPad. While it is still not confirmed as yet, word has it that iBooks are going to sell for $12.99 and $14.99.
The Apple iPad is portable, lightweight, and most likely really fun to tinker around with. But if you don’t need all of the “other stuff”, the ereaders on the market now will suit you just as well. But if you are a true-blue Apple fanatic, then Jobs and his team have produced yet another brilliant product for consumers. With amazing clarity and capabilities, you will “iLove” this multi-tasking gadget. The Apple iPad will fit perfectly with your MacBook Pro, AirPort Express, Magic Mouse and iPhone.
While the iPad is a truly revolutionary device that’s in a class all its own, it’s unlikely to take the place of the Kindle as the top ebook reading device in the market.
