The Process of Making Money On eBay
July 6th, 2009
I certainly know that making money from the comfort of your own home is something that millions of people are dreaming about. But truthfully, its not as difficult as you may think it is. Probably the most popular way of doing it, is with eBay.
One of the many reasons, you have so many new sellers on eBay is simply due to the reason that eBay gets millions of visitors a day going to their site. Most of these visitors are looking to buy something.
It also helps that eBay may be the most addictive website anywhere online. I think it has to do with the auction format. People just love the excitement of trying to outbid others to win their product. Theyll come back to ebay just for that reason alone.
Its just so hard to ignore the sheer amount of buyers that are on eBay at any given point and time. With these kind of figures, obviously its a whole lot easier to start making money than if you had to start your own website.
Having these kind of advantages is so beneficial to someone who is just starting out in this business. The kind of shortcuts that eBay provides are staggering.
The only real negative thing that I have to say about eBay is the fact that you will be dealing with high fees. You will have both eBay and PayPal fees. Also, you will have to abide by the rules and regulations of eBay which are constantly changing.
However, even if you add up all the negatives, there is still no comparison. The massive amount of positives greatly outweigh the few negatives. Im not going to state that there arent obstacles you will have overcome, but if you consider what business owners who run bricks and mortar businesses have to deal with, its as easy as pie.
If you are looking to get started selling on eBay, then I encourage to jump in, head first. You can start getting to know some of the fundamentals, by just simply selling some of the stuff you dont use anymore around your house. Once you get that knack of it, you can take a course to take it to the next level.

Social Networking IT Support
June 24th, 2009
Owing to the enormous success of such social networking sites as Friends Reunited, MySpace and Facebook, Xorianous.com is the latest entry into the world of online communication. Yet, while the big players in this field take a generic approach of building communities of people who share interests and activities, Xorianous.com is specific in its aim: to unite and reunite Cypriot villagers around the world.
This innovative scheme belongs to Tas Georgopoulos, Director of Xorianous Limited and Swift Digital Solutions Limited. Georgopoulos, 33, wants to reunite first-generation Cypriots, as well as enlighten the second and third generation about their origins and family. He explains where the concept for the project came from. When you meet somebody of Cypriot origin, the same old questions arise: Where are you from? What village are your parents from?
Whilst in my local delicatessen, I got talking to the owner and naturally, we began talking about our parents villages. It just so happened that he was from the village next to my mothers. This planted the seed for the website, and since Cypriots continually try to find associations amongst themselves, I thought an accessible and user-friendly database is the most efficient way of connecting people. Indeed, the site is straightforward and getting registered could not be simpler.
Registration is free, where each members profile page lists the villages of both their parents, as well as providing a direct match with other users from the same village. Each member can register up to four villages. In order to post a message to, or receive a message from another user requires a minimal, annual payment of 12.50.
In nearly two weeks of the website going live, Xioranous.com has received over 16,000 hits from Cypriots from all over the globe, including the UK, Canada, Australia and Cyprus to name but a few. Since Late November 2007 the site has reached over 60,000 hits and is still growing. Moreover, it has gained newspaper exposure in a Cypriot tabloid, a UK Greek Newspaper as well as continued media interest. The site is constantly developing, with plans to include photo libraries for each individual village, along with a brief history and current events happening in and around the areas.
If ever there was a way to unite and reunite Cypriots, Xorianous.com is it. As a community, we can learn more about our origins and history, as well as maintain the Cypriot culture amongst the younger generations for years to come.

Selling On eBay - How To Make Feedback Work To Your Advantage
June 13th, 2009
Many people have heard the success stories about people who have it big on eBay. Could it be true? Well, as one of the success stories myself, I can say yes. The truth is that making a decent living on eBay can really happen. All you need to do is know the techniques of selling on eBay properly. It’s not that hard to learn these techniques, but you need to learn them. There’s a big difference between selling your stuff lying around the house and selling products on eBay to create a business and make a living. But regardless of why you want to sell on eBay, one of the most important things to concentrate on is your customer service.
If you have poor customer service on eBay, your odds of being a success are little to none. This is because eBay has a well-established rating system. This rating system allows buyers to rate the people they have bought from on different key factors. Examples of these key factors are communication, shipping time, and whether the product was properly described. This rating system is how buyers determine how to trust certain sellers. With so many charlatans out there, it’s important for buyers to be able to review the seller’s reviews from their other customers.
Having feedback on your eBay account from buyers and sellers will look even better. This will help to show that you truly are a trustworthy person. Even if you can’t afford expensive items you can still shop on eBay. Find some items that only cost a couple of dollars and start to build your feedback with those items. Read the reviews and feedback of the sellers you are buying from to see if you can trust them.
These feedback reviews give the buyers a good indication of whether or not they should do business with a seller. Therefore, it’s important as a seller on eBay to make sure that you are pleasing your customers. But customer service isn’t just meeting the status quo. You’ll also need to go above and beyond for your customers. As a new seller, this may seem time consuming but it is vital to your success. It will become easier as time goes on, and you’ll settle into a routine when you get more feedback from your satisfied customers.
But even though can you relax a little, you’ll find you’re always learning how to sell on eBay. This is because eBay’s policies change. With all of the policy changes you may find yourself a little confused from time to time. Don’t worry. This happens and it is all a part of being in business for yourself.

New Media Rich Autoresponder Programs are Ecommerce’s Hottest Trend
June 12th, 2009
I often get asked what is the new and most profitable trend in ecommerce and I believe it has to be video content. So I am excited to see more new technology emerge that can embed video right into retail email, and seeing businesses experimenting with it. Anna Yeaman reports one retailer boasting a 20-27% click through rate without linking to video, and 51-65% with links to video. And Forrester Research reports video in email can increase click through by 2-3X.
As Mr. Brownlow explains in his update on video in retail email, early use of video in email was really linking text to a video hosted on the Web. Now we see this all shifting to a more filter friendly email format.
Some retailers like Sears got clever and converted video to animated gifs. and Anna Yeaman has a DIY tutorial on how to convert video to animated gif. The gif images are not as smooth as video but nevertheless effective.
Whats so tough about embedding actual video in email?
Deliverability is the issue. Large video attachments are often a flagged as spam, and ISPs (Internet service providers) block complex data including Javascript for security reasons.
Javascript sending video in an e-mail has been blocked by many ISP’s and is a challenge for deliverability, since large video attachments often alert spam filters. The way that the NewF5 system gets around this issue is that their e-mail maitains the highest “white listing” available for an email provider and is a paid service that does not go through typical e-mail filters.
How to beat the email spam filters.
This month, the NewF5 email marketing program launched for individual and small business owners and have in place a spam compliance policy that insure the deliverability stays the highest possible in the mass email business. This high deliverability includes there newsletter and auto responder campaign systems too.
The NewF5 Email Campaign Software locks down the bit of code that tells the video server, allowing actual video code to stay in the email rather than just a placeholder. Many small businesses are already claiming very positive results.
Google recently announced it would support Youtube links in email for Gmail accounts. Its not an embed, rather Gmail recognizes Youtube code and displays the video in the email ” provided that the Gmail user has enabled the feature through Google Labs. Its unlikely the average Gmail user is going to turn this on ” so dont get too excited. Of course using gmail or any other free system defeats the purpose of email marketing which is automating the tracking and converting of your valuable leads.
Several Other Feature That Seperate the NewF5 Email Marketing Program from a Free web mail are:
1. Video and audio creation, playlists, picture galleries, media storage and media publishing;
2. Full email client with video, audio, and template integration for individual follow up
3. Mobile sync
4. Lead capture
5. Auto-responder
6. Customized template creation
7. Email delivery reporting and statistics.
My personal experience with the NewF5 autoresponder software has been above expectations. Using this system I have built 3 businesses in 5 countries from the comfort of my home office. The New F5 system is what I believe to be a must have tool for any business competing in there perspective markets.
