It may sound a little impersonal to just get the retiree a commercially made gift but then this may actually prove very useful if the retiree is still a novice or beginner golfer. Maybe you might want to get him a golf club set as this is the basic requirement to be able to play golf.
Furthermore, you may find some other accessories that your retiree golfer may still need but then perhaps you could also use your imagination on what things can be made to enhance the golfing equipment he may already have.
Commercially made golfing equipment is also a good idea, if you want to make your retiree feel good by giving him a famous set of clubs, making him look like a pro.
Gags and Jokes The fun part of choosing to give a gag gift instead is the humour these items can invest. It also adds to the lighter side of the golf-playing retiree’s party and his friends will be able to take part in with smiles, laughs and jokey comments too.
The joke gift should be bought quite carefully as the gag gift may represent a sensitive matter for the retiree, especially if he is still a newbie player. Joke present in relation to golfing might be taken negatively and discourage or at least hinder their learning and progress as they are disturbed by the idea represented by the joke present given to them.
However, for veteran players who already know the game well, the gift of a good gag gift on their retirement day would be very funny because they would see golfing not only as a way to relieve stress but to actually just have some fun as well.

Tennis Fundamentals

I expect that this first foray of mine into the world of writing will find a place with both novices and experts in the tennis world. I am trying to interest the student of the game by a somewhat prolonged discussion of match play, which I trust will cast a new light on the game of tennis.
I will address the novice in my opening article and write of certain matters which are second nature to the experienced tennis player. The best tennis equipment is not a lot of use for the beginner even if he really is trying to succeed. Nevertheless, one has to purchase good quality; it is a saving eventually, as good quality goods far outlasts poor quality gear.
It is important to always dress in tennis clothes when engaging in tennis. The question of choosing a tennis racquet is a much more serious matter. I do not advise forcing a certain racquet upon any player. All the standard makes are excellent. It is on the weight, balance, and size of handle that the real value of a racquet frame depends, while good stringing is essential to obtain the best results.
After having acquired your racquet, make a firm decision to buy only quality tennis balls, as a consistent bounce is a great aid to advancement, while a “dead” ball is of no use at all. If you really want to advance at tennis and progress rapidly, I strongly recommend you to see all the good tennis you can. Observe the play of the top players and strive to copy their play. Read all the tennis instruction manuals you can get your hands on. They are a great assistance.
Much more tennis can be picked up off the tennis court in the study of theory and in watching the top players in play, than can ever be learned in one’s own actual play. I do not mean that you should miss opportunities to play tennis, far from it. Play tennis whenever you can, but try when playing to put into practice the theories you have read about or the strokes you have watched.
Never become discouraged by lack of progress. The trick of playing some stroke you have worked at for weeks unsuccessfully, will suddenly come to you when you least expect it. Good tennis players are the product of hard work. Very few players are born geniuses at the game. Tennis is a game that pays you dividends all your life. A tennis racquet is a letter of introduction in any city.
The brotherhood of the game is universal, for none but an athletic sportsman can succeed in the game for any lengthy period of time. Tennis offers relaxation, excitement, exercise, and pure enjoyment to the player who is bound hard to his business until late afternoon.
The following is the order of development that produces the quickest and most lasting results: i. Concentration on the game. ii. Keep the eye on the ball. iii. Foot-work and weight-control. iv. Strokes. v. Court position. vi. Court generalship or match play. vii. Tennis psychology.
Concentration. Tennis is played primarily with the mind. The most perfect racquet technique in the world will not be enough if the directing mind is erring. There are many causes of a wandering mind in a tennis match. The main one is loss of interest in the game. No one should play tennis with any expectation of real success unless he cares enough about the game to be willing to do the practice necessary to learn the game correctly.
Jack it in right now if you are not willing to work very hard. The weather, conditions of play or the noises in the gallery often bewilder even very experienced match-players playing in new surroundings. Complete and utter concentration on the game is the only remedy for a wandering mind, and the sooner that lesson is learned the more rapid the advancement of the player.
The surest way to keep a game in mind is to play for every set, every game in the set, every point in the game and, finally, every shot in the point. A set is merely a conglomeration of made and missed shots, and the man who misses the least is the final victor.

Borat: A bizarre comedy that takes a look at an America from a foreigner’s perspective. A journalist from Kazakhstan travels around America creating a humorous cultural discord. Many of our prejudices are exposed in this film.
Sex and The City: Made for the big screen rendition of the HBO series with the same name. We continue to watch the ladies deal with work and relationships in New York City. All the same actresses are featured in the movie.
Bull Durham: This comedy is about life in the minor leagues of baseball. It centers on two players, veteran catcher Crash Davis, and rookie pitching prospect ‘Nuke’ LaLoosh. Nuke’s hopes and dreams are all in front of him, while Crash, who is helping Nuke learn the game, sees his career as a baseball player coming to an end.
Ace Ventura: Pet Detective: Ace Ventura has a unique job. He is the world’s only pet detective. He is hired to find the Miami Dolphin’s pet mascot Snowflake, who has gone missing.
Superman Returns: This is a classic superman adventure with all the key players. Superman has disappeared, and for a few years Metropolis has seen a huge rise in crime. Now, Lex Luther is out of prison, and planning out his crimes. Superman eventually realizes that his place in the world is in keeping Metropolis safe, so he returns to Metropolis to battle Lex, and the rest of the cities criminals.
Everyone is used to using download sites for music. With improvements in internet speeds, and other advancements, it is now possible for movies to be downloaded as readily as music. Movie downloads just might be the wave of the future.

It used to be that you had to go to the video store to get a movie. Instead of buying or renting the dvd, people now can choose a movie download instead. You can get virtually any movie you want with a good movie download site. Here are some examples.
Beowulf: A mighty warrior, Beowulf has fought and defeated the demon beast Grendel. Now he will incur the wrath of his much more powerful mother. The epic battle that follows will have people speaking the name of Beowulf forever.
The Specialist: An explosives specialist befriends a woman whose parents have been murdered. Together they set out to avenge the death of her parents. This means taking on a Cuban-American crime boss, his son, and a brutal hit man.
U.S. Marshall: Mark Sheridan has been accused of murder. When the prisoner transport plane he is on crashes, he escapes. He is now free, but running from U.S. Marshall Sam Gerard. We learn that Mark Sheridan is no murderer at all. Can he prove his innocence before they hunt him down?
XXX: Xander ‘XXX’ Cage has been brought in by NSA agent Gibbons to help him with an urgent matter. He must help the MSA bring down a Russian crime ring, or face jail time. Primal Fear: Genius defense lawyer Martin Vail sees a great opportunity in taking the case of a poor young man accused of killing the Catholic archbishop. When he interviews his frightened client he starts to believe in his innocence, even though all the evidence points toward him. He conceives a brilliant defense. Will his client be found guilty, or innocent?
The Break Up: Jennifer Anniston (Brook) and Vince Vaughn (Gary) star in this romantic comedy. After a fight they decide to break up. The catch is neither will move out of the apartment.
50 First Dates: Is an inspirational story of true love. Henry Roth meets and falls in love with Lucy Whitmore. The problem is that Lucy, due to a traumatic event in her past, wakes up every morning forgetting her past. The condition seems permanent so for their relationship to continue Harry will have to start over meeting Lucy every day, for the rest of their lives.
We have already seen the music industry take off online. The movie download industry is going to become as busy as the music download business is. If you love watching movies, it is well worth looking into.
