Modest Retirement Gifts For Golfers
July 4th, 2009
There is a commonly-held notion that golf is a pastime and sport of big shot entrepreneurs and businessmen. It also has the reputation of being an exclusive, elite sport that is not accessible to regular blue collared employees. However, this is not really the case as modernization and commercialization have brought this so called elite sport into the reach of the common worker.
This is because you don’t need to buy sophisticated equipment to play. Unlike big game fishing or polo which need a lot of resources - a boat or a horse respectively - golfers just require a set of golf clubs, which are reasonably affordable these days. Bearing this in mind, retirement gifts for golfers and aspiring ones are more easily thought of.
Personally made retirement gifts to personalize golfing equipment is quite an easy task as you could easily make it personal by embroidering such items as home made golf club pouches, and caddy covers. These can be knitted that is if you are a knitter or any similar craft which may require different materials.
Another idea is to tap into the fashion aspect of golfing which means to focus on the things worn by a golfer. You may even set a new trend in golfing apparel using a lively imagination and an interesting clothing design for your retiree.
Normal gifts. The most common and usual method of getting a retirement gift for golfers is to go over to the nearest sports shop and get your retiree some of the things sold there. It may sound a little impersonal to just get the retiree a commercially made gift but then this may actually prove very useful if the retiree is still a novice or beginner golfer. Maybe you might want to get him a golf club set as this is the basic requirement to be able to play golf.
Furthermore, you may find some other accessories that your retiree golfer may still need but then perhaps you could also use your imagination on what things can be made to enhance the golfing equipment he may already have.
Commercially made golfing equipment is also a good idea, if you want to make your retiree feel good by giving him a famous set of clubs, making him look like a pro.
Gags and Jokes The fun part of choosing to give a gag gift instead is the humour these items can invest. It also adds to the lighter side of the golf-playing retiree’s party and his friends will be able to take part in with smiles, laughs and jokey comments too.
The joke gift should be bought quite carefully as the gag gift may represent a sensitive matter for the retiree, especially if he is still a newbie player. Joke present in relation to golfing might be taken negatively and discourage or at least hinder their learning and progress as they are disturbed by the idea represented by the joke present given to them.
However, for veteran players who already know the game well, the gift of a good gag gift on their retirement day would be very funny because they would see golfing not only as a way to relieve stress but to actually just have some fun as well.
You should see retirement gifts for golfers as just a simple way to make your golfer friend enjoy life after his career is over.

Rtirement Investment Vehicles
May 14th, 2009
Retirement may be a long, long way off for you or it might be right around the corner. It doesn’t how near or far away it is, you have really got to start investing for it right now. However, saving for retirement isnt what it used to be with the increase in the cost of living and the instability of social security. Nowadays, you have to invest for your retirement, as opposed to saving for it!
We shall start by taking a look at the retirement plan, which is offered by your company. Not so long ago, these schemes were quite sound. However, after the Enron collapse and all the problems which followed, people arent as confident in their company retirement schemes anymore. However, if you decide not to invest in your companys retirement plan, you do have other things you can do.
Firstly, you may invest in bonds, certificates of deposit, money market accounts, mutual funds and stocks in alphabetical order. You do not need to explain to anybody that the returns on these investments are to be used for retirement fund. Simply let your money grow over a period of time, and when your investment reaches its maturity date or value, reinvest it and continue to let your money grow.
You could also open an Individual Retirement Account (IRA). IRAs are very popular because the money is not taxed until you withdraw the funds. You may also be able to deduct your IRA contributions from the taxes that you owe. An IRA may be opened at most banks.
A ROTH IRA is a much newer type of retirement vehicle. With a Roth, you pay taxes on the money that you invest in your ROTH IRA account, but when you cash out, no federal taxes are owed. Roth IRAs can also be opened at most larger financial institutions.
Another popular very type of retirement vehicle is the 401(k). 401(ks) are usually offered through employers, but you may be able to open a 401(k) on your own. You should talk to a financial advisor or an accountant to help you decide whether this is right for you.
The Keogh scheme is another sort of IRA that is more suitable for self employed people. Self-employed small business owners may also be interested in Simplified Employee Pension Plans (SEP). This is another type of Keogh scheme that people usually find easier to administer than a normal Keogh scheme.
Whichever retirement investment you decide on, please make sure you do choose one! Again, do not depend on social security, company retirement plans, or even an inheritance that may or may not come through! Take care of your financial future by investing in it today.

Announcement - New Brain Training Article Directory
March 11th, 2009
The reason I am publishing this article is to inform you of a new Brain Training Article Directory. The new directory has several specific brain training/brain fitness categories including: Brain Games, General Info, Memory and Aging, Memory and Diet, Memory and Emotion, Memory and Exercise, Memory and Hypnosis, Memory and Meditation, Memory and Sleep, Stress, and Study Skills. If there is another category you would like me to add I will happily do so just let me know.
The Brain Training niche is exploding. Type ‘ brain training’ into Google and you’ll get 37,800,000 hits. The industry did over $200,000,000 dollars in 2007.
I believe the rising popularity of the brain training / brain fitness industry is a direct result of Baby Boomers’ experience with their parents. Baby boomers are now looking after their aging parents and many are having to deal with issues related to memory loss. Obviously, watching your parents become ‘less than they were’ is not an easy thing to accept. Yet, for most of us, it’s an inescapable reality - we are responsible for our parents in their senior years. It’s a difficult time of life.
Baby Boomers have always taken good care of themselves and are realizing that the quality of life in their senior years will require them to be mentally fit as well as physically fit. Besides, they don’t want to burden their children any more than they have to.
As far as I can tell, I’ve created the first Brain Training / Brain Fitness Article Directory. There are companies that publish their own articles in a variety of directories but none have specific brain training related categories. As far as I know, my article directory is the first. in fact, this is my first article to tell people about it.
My purpose in setting up the Brain-training-Fitness Article Directory was to make it easier for consumers to conduct research without having to wade through dozens of web sites looking for relevant articles and content experts to share their expertise. Think of it like this: rather than having shoppers drive all over town finding stores selling memory improvement products, I’ve built a ‘mall’ where consumers and sellers can meet and exchange information easily. I think it’s a time saver for everyone involved.
Location, location, location… My article directory is on page one of Google for the search term ‘brain training fitness’. That puts my ‘mall’ ahead of approximately 37,799,995 other web sites dealing with brain training. Wouldn’t you like to take advantage of my location?
NOTE: In order to submit articles into the specific brain training categories, you’ll need to register as an author on my site. It only takes a minute, it’s a double opt-in process (so be sure to check your Spam box for the confirmation email). I respect your privacy - I don’t share your emails - won’t bombard you with cheap/tacky get rich quick offers.

What To Look For In Long Term Care Insurance
February 16th, 2009
When looking at a long term care insurance quote, there are many facets which can determine the cost to you. This article will give you six important points you should consider when looking at a ltci quote. Much of this is determined by type of benefits you want, your age, and which company you want to work with. This will allow you to be an educated consumer when purchasing this insurance product.
Long term care insurance quotes can be very complex but this article will give you six important points to consider. When you buy your policy and the type of policy you choose will allow the quote to change.
Long-term care is dependent upon what benefits you want to receive. Looking at whether you may receive in-home services, nursing home care or community based services will help your quote vary.
Your age is going to determine the cost of the policy. If you are younger and buying a policy, you will almost certainly receive a lower premium.
The types of companies you approach for an ltci quote can help determine a different cost in your quote. You may be able to receive this quote through your employer.
You can choose different policies with different benefits. Some policies pay a maximum for either a daily, weekly, or monthly amount or others pay up to a certain dollar amount.
You have the option to choose when you are able to start using benefits and this will cause a change in your insurance quote.
Daily benefits level is something to think over. If you want higher daily benefits limits, this will cause you to pay more for your ltci.
With any luck, this has given you good information regarding long term care insurance quotes. More information is always better so that you have an idea what to expect and you can have thought through what you want out of your policy.
